Single Ply Membrane

Clearly Drinks, Sunderland

Background

Clearly Drinks is based in the North East of England. They are a soft drinks manufacturer who offer a range of own-brands and an industry leading bottling service. They also draw spring water directly on site.

The roof areas to their factory and office buildings were in need of refurbishment. Roof areas totalling in excess of 3500m2 meant this big job required the experience and expertise of a Fatra approved roofing contractor. With their extensive knowledge in installing large Fatra jobs, Lynx Construction was employed to carry out the refurbishment works.

Notable benefits

The existing roof structure consisted of a built-up felt system with fibre board on a metal deck, laid to falls. The refurbishment proposal to the factory roof area involved overlaying this existing felt with a recovery insulation board and lap-fixed Fatra FF810 single ply membrane. The existing felt would act as the vapour barrier to the newly upgraded warm roof.

To the office roof area, the existing felt was overlaid with lap-fixed Fatra FF810 single ply membrane, incorporating the Fatra FF801 300g/m2 polyester fleece between the new and the existing. The fleece was introduced in order to prevent plasticiser migration between the old bituminous felt and the new PVC Fatra membrane; ensuring the longevity of the new Fatra waterproofing solution.

Lynx Construction completed the project in May 2020 and it was delivered with the benefit of a 20 year product guarantee.

Fatra FF810 is available from Fatra UK Ltd and can only be installed by Fatra trained and licensed contractors.
